When we came to the Czech Republic it was truly foreign in language, customs and currency (they are not yet on the Euro). When I first turned on the street for the apartment I found myself driving down some steps. I thought I might have gone the wrong way, but I hadn't. We had some challenges figuring out how to pay for parking, how to get in our apartment, how to use the washer/dryer and most distressing how to pay for the tram. We rode the tram to a dinner cruise and the whole way there we were trying to figure out how to pay. Most people seemed to pay with an app on their phone. Others had purchased a ticket from an automated box on street with a bar coded ticket. I tried the box on the tram but hadn't set up my Apple Pay to work. So the long and short of it we rode the tram for free and didn't end up in jail.
Our host came by to bring us extra pillows and instruct us in how to use the washer. She was a very nice young woman. We spend close to an hour visiting with her. She is a world traveler, teaches English and has several apartments on Airbnb. She had a lot of questions for us (Mom) as she is expecting her first.
For the evening we went on a 3 hour dinner cruise on the Grand Bohemia. Since it was mostly at night we don't have a lot of pictures.
